Buy Hasselblad 203FE Camera on Ebay
Original pricing on a Hasselblad 203fe camera with focal plane shutter system was about $3200 US in late 2002.
The 203FE does not use the famous Hasselblad leaf-shutter system but makes up for it with faster lenses and faster shutter speeds. For example, the 203FE has a 1/2000 sec shutter speed, as opposed to a leaf-shutter camera with a top speed of 1/500th of a speed, making it an excellent camera for live action such sports and nature.
The excellent Zeiss optics is the heart of the Hasselblad 203fe, which is backwards compatible with older leaf-shutter lenses, such as ancient chrome lenses to the latest CB, CF, or CFi Zeiss glass. An excellent lens for portrait photography is the 60-120mm Zoom FE with a fixed maximum aperture of 4.8.
The 203fe also has a reasonably priced and powerful motor drive option, the winder F, which attaches to the spool on the right side of the body. The Winder F which enables the 203 fe to make 1.3 fps.
The 203FE is capable of totally automated exposures with FE and CFE lenses exposure and the proper databus connection. In aperture priority mode there are 3 choices: “A,” “Ab,” or “D” modes.
“A” mode allows the camera to set the shutter speed once you chosen the f/stop. “Ab” mode is auto-bracketing mode when the 203FE will automatically fire through repeated exposures set for 1/3, 2/3, or 1 EV-step bracket increments.
The TTL/OTF flash capability makes the Hasselblad 203FE very popular with event photographers with very accurate exposure accuracy.
The 203FE can be used with Hasselblad’s “E” series backs and the ancient “A” series backs in manual mode.
